Emergency Numbers

In the case of an emergency, please dial 911

In case of inclement weather, the university has established a color-coded system to communicate with the campus community in case of a closure. The code is as follows:

Green: Open on regular schedule.
Yellow: Open on regular schedule, but students and employees should use their own judgment as to whether it is safe for them to travel to the campus. Students who choose not to attend class should contact their faculty members at the earliest opportunity and discuss making up any class assignments/exams missed. Employees will be charged leave according to policy.
Orange: No classes, but employees will report for work. Employees should use their own judgment as to whether it is safe for them to travel to the campus. Employees will be charged leave according to policy.
Red: The campus is closed except for emergency personnel. Emergency personnel include Campus Police, Facilities personnel, Dining Services personnel, Residential Life personnel and Health Services personnel.

As always, students and employees are encouraged to use caution and their own judgment as to whether it is safe to travel to campus.

As of 3 a.m. Cookeville Police continue to patrol area. Shortly after 2 a.m. Subject involved in assault was last seen north of Whitney and 7th St. Report any suspicious activity to police. About 2 a.m. Police began looking for a black male wearing dark clothing involved in an assault at the hospital. Subject is armed with a knife
